[Overview] This item is also known as Shizhongru, Liugongru, Zhongru, Gongru. It is the milky aggregate of carbonate calcite mineral, specifically the narrower cylindrical tubular part at the lower end. It is mainly produced in Shanxi, Shaanxi, Gansu, Hubei, Guangdong, Guangxi, Guizhou, Yunnan, and other regions. It can be harvested year-round, with impurities removed, washed clean, and sun-dried.
[Properties] Sweet in taste, warm in nature. Enters the Lung, Kidney, and Stomach meridians.
[Actions] Warms the Lung to receive Qi, warms the Kidney to assist Yang, promotes lactation and regulates acidity.
[Applications]
1. Used for Lung and Kidney Qi deficiency with cold cough, asthma, and wheezing due to failure to grasp the primordial Qi; used alone or combined with Ephedra (Ma Huang), Apricot Kernel (Xing Ren), etc.; for deficiency-induced asthma, can be combined with Chinese Yam (Shan Yao), Coix Seed (Yi Yi Ren), etc.; or combined with Ginseng (Ren Shen), Schisandra (Wu Wei Zi), Aconite (Fu Zi), Cinnamon (Rou Gui), Walnut Kernel (Hu Tao Ren), etc.
2. Used for Kidney Yang deficiency causing impotence, premature ejaculation, nocturnal emission, spermatorrhea, soreness and weakness of the lumbar region and knees; can be combined with Cistanche (Rou Cong Rong), Morinda (Ba Ji Tian), Psoralea (Bu Gu Zhi), etc.; if accompanied by Kidney Yin deficiency, can add Rehmannia (Shu Di Huang), Ligustrum (Nu Zhen Zi), Goji Berry (Gou Qi Zi), Turtle Shell (Gui Jia), etc.
