[Overview] This herb is also known as Anmole, Yuganzi, Youganzi, and Tu Ganlan. It is the mature fruit of Phyllanthus emblica L., a plant of the Euphorbiaceae family. It is mainly produced in Yunnan, with Sichuan, Guangdong, Guangxi, Fujian, and Guizhou also producing it. The fruit is harvested in autumn when ripe, impurities are removed, then washed clean, blanched in boiling water or soaked in salt water, and finally sun-dried.
[Properties] Taste: sweet, sour, astringent; nature: cool. Enters the Lung and Stomach meridians.
